Mulled Apple Juice (Cider) or Wine

The following quantities will flavour 1 gallon of apple juice and serve about 10-15.  See the accompanying page for a recipe for mixed spice.

Recipes that I saw often used whole allspice, which is in my recipe for mixed spice.  Some added juice, say 2 cups orange and 1 cup lemon.

• Add ingredients to drink in large pan and simmer for 30 mins;
• If you don't have a spice ball, serve through a tea strainer or coffee filter.
• A crock pot can be used to keep it hot.

The coffee filter doesn't work well, so a strainer is best. You can reuse the cinnamon sticks and slices in later batches.
